MINUTES of the ANNUAL COUNCIL MEETING held on Monday 8th May 2017 at the Village Hall Sledmere

1. Appologies received from Councillor J.J.Sykes
2.The Minutes of the previous Council Meeting 6.2.17. having been circulated, were approved and signed by the Chairman
3.Elections
i.The Clerk took the Chair and asked for nominations for Chairman. Councillor B.J.Clark stated that it was time for him to step down, but remain a Parish Councillor. Councillor J.Southwick was nominated Chairman and Councillor Colin Treen Vice Chairman by Councillor Lady Swinton and seconded by Councillor Adrian Robson. There were no other nominations, and both were so elected unanimously. Councillor J.Southwick took the Chair. He thanked Councillor Clark for 14 years service as Chairman, and this long and dedicated service was responded to by all with loud applause.
ii.The other officers, namely Councillor Southwick as PCC rep, Councillor Treen as Farmwatch and Neighbourhood Watch rep and Mr Greenfield as internal auditor were unanimously reelected. The Chairman thanked retired Councillor Collinson for setting up the Web Site and Councillor Treen for continuing to run it. Councillor Treen reported Farmwatch had been instrumental in 14 succesful prosecutions for hare coursing in the area.
4. Planning Conditional consent for 3 bay garage Bosegran House Duggleby Road received
5. Accounts
Accounts 16/17 and draft accounts 17/18 having been circulated was explained by the Clerk.There being no questions, the accounts were unanimously approved. The Precept of £1,500 and VAT refund of £185.93 had been received. Cheques in accordance therewith, namely for £450 Clerk, £100 petty cash(to include inter alia £52.64 for printer ink) £20 Farmwatch £100 Sledmere PCC handed to Councillor Southwick and £40 to Village Hall handed to Councillor Robson were approved, drawn and signed. The Chairman and Clerk signed the relevant page of the Accounts Book The Council having considered the internal audit work performed and internal audit arrangements in place 1.4.16 – 31.3.17 considered the Accounting Statements approved the Accountancy Statements unanimously by resolution and ensured the Accountancy Statements were signed, corrections installed and dated by the Chairman which was then signed by the Chairman.
6. The Chairman closed the meeting, thanking all who had attended this, Annual Parish and Village meetings.
