.Minutes of last Meeting The Minutes of the Parish Meeting 8th May 2017 were read, approved and signed by the Chairman
.Chairman’s Report ERC Highways Department had done a good job repairing potholes, properly planning off, and clearing out surface water gulleys. As other topics of concern were ongoing and covered by the agenda of the meeting, he asked the Clerk to continue explaining these
.Accounts The closed and balanced with bank statement account 1.4.17 – 31.3.18, and draft accounts 1.4.18 – 31.3.19 were circulated and explained by the Clerk, who had received the Precept of £2,000 and applied for the refund of VAT £1,328.32. There were no questions
.De-fibulator & First Responders The Clerk read the initial e-mail of Patricia Kilner, Community Defibrillation Trainer Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust 8 July 2013, setting out details, costing, training requirements and coverage of the two alternative types. On her recommendation the Parish Council had opted for the First Responder more comprehensive one, which had gone live March 30 2014. Currently there are four First Responders, Craig and Helen Scurry, Rachel Clark from East Lutton and Rob Harling from West Lutton, with Allan Hardwick awaiting training. They had to date turned out to 7 calls in Sledmere, and a number of other calls in surrounding villages More volunteers are greatly needed, particularly during normal working hours though the greatest need is nightime when full time services have been stood down. Anyone interested should contact Craig at craig.scurry@uwclub.net.
Stephen Greenfield was actively considering installing at Sledmere House for the benefit of visitors the type two defibulator which does not require trained First Responders.
.Neighbourhood & Farm Watch Colin Treen, who is our representative on both, and Clerk had attended a meeting organised by Maureen Yates, ERYC Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator for Community Safety Partners, with whom Sledmere Parish Council is fully registered. It was addressed by the Crime Commissioner, representatives from Humbersidewatch, the Police, the Fire Service, and other agencies on Neighbourhood Watch and related topics. Colin is registering his and the Clerk’s e-mail addresses to receive real time crime reports affecting the Sledmere area. The Clerk had handed Stephen Greenfield the local Fire Service contact for free inspection and installation of residential property smoke alarms etc, though priority is given to rented accommodation, the application should come from the tenant. The Clerk read exchange of e-mails with PCSO 7670 Faye Nicholson, Communities Driffield, who is continuing on her return from maternity leave to look after our parish. The Clerk will ask her for advice, with c.c. to Andrew Addison, ERYC Area Engineer – Highway maintenance who though the C57 Croombe Road is not on the list for next financial year will assess its current condition and address any significant actionable defects likely to present a hazard to road users, on closing Croombe Road to heavy vehicles rerouting them to turning left at the Cowlam Crossroads on the B1253 Bridlington road. This would avoid using a village street, Croombe Bank and mixing with the estate farm traffic from Croome Hall. He will suggest Faye attends our next meeting to discus this.
.Eleanor Cross Clerk read latest e-mails with Historic England and Peter Pace architect which explain the current position, still awaiting Historic England possible further inspection and report on the acceptable method of re-instatement etc. He will kep the pressure up.
.A.O.B. Adrian was asked to thank his wife, Pat, for her floral displays on the village signs etc, and both of them were thanked for their litter picking. The Clerk had got them a supply of bags, gloves etc from the Keep Britain Tidy. The Clerk read the NHS leaflet re Driffield 8 to 8 Centre and other provision in the area, which he had displayed in the Parish Council Notice Board. This new provision had its drawbacks. The Clerk will ask Andrew Addison to have the pothole Wetwang Side of School House dale bottom, Wetwang Road, repaired.
.There being no further business, the Chairman thanked those attending for their contributions and declared the meeting closed
