- Minutes of Previous Meeting: The minutes of the previous meeting were
read, approved and signed by the chairman.
- Matters Arising: None
- Clerks Report: The Clerk reported that the matter of the waste
bin had been dealt with and Mr Pierson reported that he had emptied it once and there was now less litter on the highway.
The enforcement officers had now installed a traffic control system on both the Driffield and Bridlington Roads. She reported that she had heard
back from Humberside who were now adamant that they were not keen
on the WhatsApp system as they had their own Community Policing system.
Humberside police had requested that they come and meet the Parish
Council to discuss this system but unfortunately, this was currently
not possible due to Covid 19 and the rule of six. However, the chairman
had earlier notified the Clerk that Humberside Police had put a notice in
the Driffield Post notifying residents of local villages that they would be
visiting to discuss the community policing scheme. The Clerk reported
that the following day she had received an email notifying the village that
the meeting would be held at the Waggoners memorial between 1800-2000
on 21st October. The clerk agreed to contact them to find out more details. JD
- Clerk confirmed that she had completed the forms and forwarded them back to ERYC regarding the adoption of the phone box who in turn had collated all the paperwork which had been submitted to BT who will shortly be sending the adoption paperwork. It was yet to be decided what was to be done with the phone box, but it was felt that the school should be involved. The Clerk reported that the car park in Croome Road had now been enlarged and Mr. Pierson stated that this was now much easier to manoeuvre. There was still no movement on the felling of the trees on the Sledmere estate which were overhanging the road. The chair agreed to chase Andy Southwick for the price for the notice board JS A discussion took place on whether the defibulator required an annual check and where replacement pads were obtained. Clerk agreed to contact Craig Scurry to see if he knew JD
- Farmwatch Mr. Treen reported that there had been a number of thefts of
- systems from tractors. He also reported that the police had had some success regarding hare coursing.
- Accounts: JD confirmed that she had completed the AGAR return and scanned a copy as they did not want any hard copies sent in. It was confirmed that the
original documents had been filed in the event that things changed.
- Any Other Business Mr. Robson reported that there was an issue with the road between Sledmere and Wetwang at Keepers Bottom. There was a fall away on one side of 8” making it extremely dangerous particularly as on the opposite side there was incline so traffic on that side had nowhere to go. Mr. Robson also reported that there was a similar problem on Croome Road this side of the county boundary where the road also dropped away. The Clerk agreed to contact ERYC and report these issues to the highways department JD
