i.)Eleanor Cross. Sophie Godraind of English Heritage and Giuovanni Verri of the Courtauld Institute had carried out a nighttime UV photography multispectral imagery of the Cross 22/3 Feb for polychromy analysis of the type of paint, guilding and varnish required. Clara Willet’s (more senior member of English Heritage) 2 page e-mail of 22.12 17 was briefly read setting out the full procedure in more detail. James Fenwick and the Sledmere Estate had kindly provided their generator, lead and fuel, so it was all at no cost to the Council. The Clerk had profusely thanked all involved, particularly in view of the awful weather, and had offered refreshments and to be on hand throughout. He read Sophie Godfraind’s reply e-mail of 5.2., that Giovanni had so far completed the photography in diffuse and raking light, but a second trip is necessary to finish the near-infrared photography and spot analysis of the polychromy, and she will arrange this with the Clerk and James Fenwick as the generator will be required again. The Eleanor Cross was put on the agenda of the Annual Meeting.
ii.)The Clerk had returned the Village Taskforce Walkabout Satisfaction Survey completed but pointing out there was still standing water at the two locations Fimber Road on 5.12. Rob Brown had replied by e-mail 15.12 that the grips would be cleared out shortly, and indeed they have been on all roads around Sledmere. The Clerk will thank him and his team for this, for the regular gritting and street sweeping. Although Rob had replied on 6.10. to the repairing of potholes and verge Crombe Road to the boundary of NRYCC and Driffield Road Lime Kiln Hill to Woodhill Farm, as had Alison Elvidge, Senior Engineer, in her e-mail of 16. May, the Clerk was instructed to raise this again.

Theft of farmstock and equipment remains a major concern. He will give a report on Neighbourhood Watch and Farmwatch to the Annual Parish Meeting
ii). Concern was expressed at Craig Scurry being called our as a first responder with the Sledmere Defibulator to Driffield, rather than restricted to a 5 mile radius of Sledmere. The Clerk explained how First Responders with Defibulators worked, sadly the only remaining volunteer First Responders are Craig and Helen Scurry so more are needed.. He will ask Craig if he can influence being retained for the Sledmere area, and can give a report to the Annual Council Meeting, and the Clerk will circulate agendas stressing the need for more volunteers to attend the Annual Parish Meeting.
